Someone who arrived late but
Someone who arrived late but …
His name is Hafhaf Ibn Mohand Rasbi Basri. He arrived in Karbala at five or six o’clock in the evening. He thought that division that has 30,000 soldiers and is apparently victorious is Hussein’s division..
He went to the army and said, “Where is my master?”
They said, “Who is your master?”
Said the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib.
They showed him the pit. He realized that the situation had changed.. He realized it was too late. I wish Basra was not so far from Karbala!
He went to the pit. He did not say it was too late! He did not say, “Excuse me, Hussein, I did not come to your aid!” He did not say I did not deserve to be with you! He was not disappointed. Said my Lord! I will come for a pilgrimage in another moment.
Hit the heart of the army. Was besieged. He was martyred. Fell near the pit.
O you who think you are left behind! Hafhaf Basri was martyred after Hussein! Hafhaf is said to be the last martyr of the event, but I say Hafhaf is the first pilgrim of Karbala!!
